How to find your Tinted Oil Serum shade
Step 1: Determine your undertone.
Your undertone determines your skin tone’s hue. While your skin tone can vary throughout the year depending on seasonal sun exposure, your undertone is always the same. To identify whether you have warm, cool or neutral undertones, we recommend trying these three methods.
M E T H O D 1
Place a piece of plain white paper next to your skin. If your skin seems more pink, red, or blue-toned compared to the paper, you have a cool undertone.
If your skin seems more peachy, yellow-toned, or golden compared to the paper, you have a warm undertone. If you can’t tell, you likely have a neutral undertone.

Take a look at your inner forearm. If the veins in your inner forearm appear blue, you have a cool undertone.
If the veins in your inner forearm appear green, you have a warm undertone. If you can't tell or have both green and blue veins, you likely have a neutral undertone.

Try on some pieces of jewelry. If silver is more flattering on you, you likey have a cool undertone.
If gold is more flattering on you, you likey have a warm undertone.
If you look equally great in both, you likely have a neutral undertone. If you still can't tell, you probably have a neutral undertone and might be able to pull off two shades really well!

Tinted Oil Serum Foundation shades ending in “0” are best for neutral to cool undertones and shades ending in “5” are best for neutral to warm undertones.

How to use Tinted Oil Serum Foundation
Our Tinted Oil Serum Foundations are adaptable, multifunctional and nourishing. They can be worn sheer or built up for more pigmentation and coverage, and mixing and experimenting is encouraged. It can be applied alone, atop clean skin, following a misting of HydroSoul, or layered over other Oil Serums, HydroSoul, Butters, Balms, or Moisturizers for dryer skin.

For a light, luminous glow:

Cleanse
S T E P 2:
Saturate your skin with a HydroSoul & press it in gently with your hands.
S T E P 3:
Drop a small amount of Tinted Oil Serum Foundation into the palm of your hand & apply, concentrating on the areas you would like more coverage — under the eyes, on any discoloration spots, around the nose, etc. Gently blend into your skin using finger tips.
S T E P 4:
Mist again lightly with HydroSoul.
For an ultra-nourishing application:
S T E P 1:
Saturate skin with Frankincense HydroSoul.
S T E P 2:
Prime skin with Sea Algae Serum.
S T E P 3:
Target areas of skin that feel extra dry with Patchouli Frankincense Rejuvenation Balm.

Apply Tinted Oil Serum Foundation.

Apply a splash of color from one of our Color Balms.
For a matte finish:

Cleanse.

Finish by adding your favorite translucent powder over top.

Gently massage a couple of pumps of Sea Algae Serum into the skin.

Apply Tinted Oil Serum Foundation.

Finish with another layer of Sea Algae Serum over top to create a tight,
firm yet still luminous look with a dryer feel.

Gently massage a light layer of a Whipped Shea Butter of your choice into the skin.

Finish with Elysium, or a Glow Balm of your choice, to highlight around the contour of your eyes, on the brow bone, and on the apples of your cheeks.

Our Tinted Oil Serum Foundations deliver the same deep nourishment and antioxidant density as our non-tinted Oil Serums. They are silicone-free, vegan, and made of just 7 ingredients: minerals and certified organic oils, including harmonizing golden jojoba oil, smoothing broccoli seed oil, rejuvenating rosehip seed oil, and nourishing argan oil. We chose organic broccoli seed oil for its miraculous smoothing activity, as a natural, whole-plant alternative to silicones. Jojoba for its harmonizing similarity to human sebum. Rosehip for its incredible ability to soften the appearance of sun damage, hyperpigmentation, scarring and fine lines. Al Amal Co-operative Argan oil for its lush infusion of softness, moisture and antioxidants. Into this luminous base of decadent oils, we weave in true mineral pigments to neutralize and soften the appearance of redness, blemishes and imperfections.
Our Tinted Oil Serum Foundations and cosmetics are handmade at our headquarters in Carlsbad, California. The Foundation is poured into 1 oz frosted glass bottles and packaged in FSC certified paperboard boxes by our team. The bottles are sans pump in an effort to minimize plastic waste.
